Scenic Sunday - Royal Gorge Bridge Views

First, noel mentioned that the margins in my blog are getting cut off, and I'm wondering if this is something other people are seeing? If so, what browser and operating system are you using? The blog appears fine on my PCs in Explorer 8 and Firefox, but if there are problems I'd like to fix them.

It doesn't get too much more scenic than this. Here are some views, all taken while on the Royal Gorge Bridge. The river over 1,000 feet below is the Arkansas.
This one is looking straight down between two planks of the bridge, clearly showing the river and the railroad that runs next to it.
And finally, looking between the bridge and the cable.
I love places like this!

  1. Terrific photos! Last time I was there, we took the train and looked up. My goal this summer is to revisit the Gorge with my granddaughter. I've been told to brace myself for the admission price!

  2. what about doing white water rafting? Such a steep ravine and river.

I came via your host photo of the star fish. I simply adore them.

  9. That river looks like a snake in the first and seconds shot. Wow! You are pretty high up there. I'd say those are definitely scenic views!

  12. Magnificent scenery!

It might take me quite some time to get myself on a bridge that high though.

Thanks for your equally fascinating comment on my blog. I always assumed that all houses in the US had access to all utility services. Of course, I have another question (I'll never run out of them): how often and who drains your septic tank? Or is the waste water released into the environment after treatment?
