One day at Yellowstone we stopped for lunch at the Canyon Lodge dining room in Canyon Village. I thought it looked like something from a different decade, classic American decor but from a different era. The food and service were from this day and age, casual but tasty.
I liked the outside of the building, with huge steel beams holding up the roof. I bet in the winter these are needed to support the weight of the snow.
And that was my world, just a few weeks ago. Visit the My World Tuesday site for lots more unpredictable, fun and interesting photos.
Buongiorno Al, I also would like to do a visit to the Canyon Villlage and all the Yellowstone Park! What wonderful place!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to eat! Of course, it's hard for me to find anything about Yellowstone that isn't great! Hope your week is off to a good start! Enjoy!

Thanks for the memories! I LOVED Yellowstone. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like "Mission 66" era of straight classic lines still using wood. Never was in this Yellowstone service, always enjoyed the ambiance of the Old Faithful Lodge. But I wouldn't want to be at either during winter.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the escape in the middle of the night to what seems to be a nice place. Somehow reminded me of Christmas ... please have you all a good Tuesday.

Interesting if a little odd. Wouldn't mind having lunch there myself or anywhere else in Yellowstone for that matter.

I love those lights! The woods feel of the place is wonderful :D
ReplyDeleteThe wood-paneled walls & ceilings, and the stone chimney are beautiful! Two of my favorite materials. Very interesting information about the weight of the snow too.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like something from a different decade!
ReplyDeleteThe lights, they are great.
ReplyDeleteFor the beams, may be they very over cautious architects design for the 100 year snow dump. ( Husband is an engineer, so some of his engineering talks rub off on me.)
This year, if I recall correctly, overnight 2 metres of snow fell here in NEw Zealand.
I was just there last month. We sat down to eat and got up and went to the buffet next door. My son didn't want to eat at that restaurant.
