This time of year, a lot of people put up Christmas lights on their houses. So, along with lots of other bloggers, I'm putting up some photos of Christmas lights in my part of town, taken yesterday evening. The first house belongs to my friend Bill, the other ones I don't know.
All these photos were taken hand-held, and I didn't edit them except to reduce the sizes to fit on to the blog. I'm sure you can find lots more holiday photos at the My World Tuesday site.
Great Christmas lights! :) There weren't so many around here this year.
ReplyDeleteI love doing the light tours at Christmas time! These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteVery festive! Reminds me of the first year we lived in OR; the girls were about 2 yrs old. It gets dark by 4:00 so I drove around with them "before dinner" looking at the pretty lights. It wasn't long before I realized I was lost! This was long before cell phones; I had to keep driving, peering through the darkness for a familiar landmark, and cheerfully blinking back tears. Dinner was pretty late that night, but my husband was just glad to see us again. Me? I'm still traumatized!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are all very elaborate and festive. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteThese shots are amazing! You can´t see such Christmas lights here.
ReplyDeletei like these shots a lot. i wish i had more free time before christmas to circle the neighborhood and snap at the lighted decors.
ReplyDeletehoped you had a wonderful christmas and may your new year bring prosperity.
The lights are beautiful! I like the colors!
ReplyDeleteWe went out for a drive Christmas evening to look at all the pretty lights. I wonder if the folks who take the trouble to create these wonderlands realize how much their efforts are appreciated to so many people. Your neighborhood really sparkles!

Wow! That's colourful! Have a great new year!
ReplyDeletePretty in your neighborhood, Al. Get those boots and hit the slopes. We have great early snow in Breck, but will need more after the Holiday rush.
ReplyDeleteThese look lovely in the dark - but a bit fish-out-of-water in the daytime! Do the people with these big displays collect money for charity?
ReplyDeletegreat shots, I have so much trouble getting light shots to come out clear. these are perfect.
ReplyDeleteMolly
We don't see much decorations at private houses here in Denmark!
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your family a Happy New Year
These are great! How long do people keep their lights up? It's nice to know that the festive lights don't go away right after christmas :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the lights of Christmas are still up. We usually leave our outside Christmas tree lights on until at LEAST New Years. Longer, if possible!
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful - I was surprised when you said you hand held your camera. My shots would have been blurry and scraggly!
Christmas lights are pure joy. Thanks for these images.
