Following on from last week's My World Tuesday post, here are some photos of the volcano attraction in from of the Mirage as it erupts. It starts with fountains of water and colored lights.
Bursts of fire appear.
Fire jets play across the pond in front of the hotel, synchronized with music.
Fire runs down the waterfall.
And finally it all ends with one last explosion.
And, here's a bonus photo from my house on Thursday afternoon, after we got yet more snow. This is about as opposite to the following photos as I could think of!
What a light/water show!! It really looks like a vulcan! WoW! =)
ReplyDeleteSnow at this time of the year?! :o Well, it has happened here in my country, too.. 1st May for many many years ago.. But last Thursday?!
But-- what a nice place you live in! You have all the nature around you, I guess.. :)
Have a nice day! :)
Ah, once again, only in Vegas!! Terrific captures, Al! It's not hard for me to believe you've had snow so recently! It's still unseasonably chilly here in Seattle, but at least we're having a little sun -- enough that I don't have to wear layers to take Sam for a walk!! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Las Vegas is spectacular! So, this is your surroundings? When we lived in the country, we were surrounded by farmland. :)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular pictures. Nice to cool down with a thin layer of snow.
ReplyDeleteNice getaway and beautiful pictures. I had to do a little searching to see where you lived with all that snow (and I wasn't surprised)! Enjoying my first visit, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun place to visit. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat volcano show!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteAmazing contrasts that made me smile. After seeing what creative geniuses can do to simulate a volcano it almost seemed like the last photo was simulated snow. But even though it’s not, the scene really appears more restful than the stunning glitter of the Mirage. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy for the sense of sight. Have to admit, that I do miss snow and its weather.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Tuesday.

The snowy scene looks so restful after the fury of the volcano. Although I've never lived where there's snow, so that's from a purely theoretical point of view. :) Great photos, and nice contrast of subjects!
ReplyDeletewow, so beautifully captured.
ReplyDeleteOh no - not more snow!
ReplyDeleteThose fire shots are amazing... and what a hotel it must have been!
magnificent photos of Las Vegas. the third shot is my favourite.

ReplyDeleteThe red flames make for wonderful photos!!! And it makes your last photo seem all the more cold...brrr!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see this didn't have anything to do with Rapture 2011!
ReplyDelete& I am happy to say I can appreciate the beautiful Winter scene after having been away from snow for a few months.
What a show ! I know the hotel I have been to Vegas I think 3 times just for 24 h. Your pictures of the show are beautiful
