Birds and Flowers

For My World Tuesday today, I'm going to publish two photos taken in my yard over the last week. I'm also entering it into Camera Critters because of the birds.

We get birds that nest on the ground in our yard, digging into tufts of grass. Their eggs have hatched, and here's a photo of them.
The bushes in front of our door suddenly burst into flower, and the smell is wonderful, almost overwhelming every time I walk outside. (Yes, spring can be late here.)
And there are a couple of pieces of the world in my yard over the last week!

  5. That is an incredible shot of the new life about to emerge from the eggs. I believe those are feathery wisps on the eggs. I wonder if it is from the mother sitting on them or from the hatching chicks themselves. :)

Your lilac bush is a picture and it's bitter-sweet scent certainly is heady. A lovely post.

  22. Thanks for wonderful captures! Newly hatched chicks look so fragile and I couldn’t see where heads and wings are?? But they look warm and soft. Tiny lives are there! I didn’t know appearances of baby birds are very different from ones of adult birds.
    Al, have a nice week!

  23. Al -- those are really BABY birds! It will be great to watch their progress.

I was thrilled to see lilacs in parts of Colorado and in high desert Oregon on our roadtrip. Sometimes we miss spring flowers altogher coming from Florida. I knew they'd be gone by the time we reached the Willamette Valley in Oregon (where we are going to sepnd the summer).
