An owl has been hanging around our office in the daylight hours. There's an owlprint on one of the windows, so we think he flew into a window and got injured. He's doing much better now, and is flying around properly again. Hopefully he will remember that he's not supposed to be out in the daytime!
I'm keeping an eye on you!
He's landing on top of the building. I wish I'd caught this a split-second earlier and had his whole reflection.
All these photos were cropped and slightly sharpened using the free GIMP photo editing software. It's been a while since I've entered the Camera Critters meme, but this seems like a perfect entry for it.
Great shots, Al. He still looks a bit dazed ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeing an owl freak without a single shot to my name I applaud your wonderful captures and am a livid shade of green with envy.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are superb, Al! What a beautiful one he is! I hope he will recover fully. He does look a bit dazed -- I know I would if I'd flown into a building! I love being able to see his eyes so clearly! Terrific! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful photos! Wonderful chance to catch some close ups. Hope he doesn't injure himself again.
ReplyDeleteWow - yes! Perfect captures. That last shot is award-winning!
ReplyDeleteCiao Al, this owl is so beautiful that it seems mock (mock in the sense of art created, so we say in Italy of all that we feel good, do not know if Colorado used to say the same?
ReplyDeleteHave a good day!
Oh wow, I love owls and have them hooting in the garden every night here in Kenya. Not had ONE photo yet. Your photos are brilliant. I love the one with the reflection in the window. Hope he improves soon. Greetings, Jo

ReplyDeleteOh my...! poor owl! :/ I hope it recover soon! Fantastic pictures you've got of the owl! And a great reflection, not strange the owl got mad :))
ReplyDeleteProbably, hopefully, it will remember the "owl made of glass"! Or.. in another way..... I hope the owl when it meets another (real) owl, will not think it is made of glass!! =O
:)
He's just beautiful! I wish birds would figure out windows. The owl was extra-confused flying about in the daytime. Hope he'll be OK.

The myths and old stories that surround them give them extra gravitas add that to seeing them in daylight makes this one all the more special. Love the shots of this beautiful bird.
