I tried turning the comment word verification off yesterday to see how it would go (I've had people indicate it's causing them trouble). Unfortunately, within a few hours I already had several spam comments, including links to pornographic sites and fake sites to sell assorted products. As a result, I've decided to turn the word verification back on. My blogging time is limited and I don't want to spend it sorting though spam comments. I apologize for the inconvenience, as these spammers really frustrate me and take some of the joy out of blogging. But I really enjoy my real readers' comments so please keep them coming!
Maybe blogger can come up with a better spam filter...
I'm so sorry you've had so much trouble with spammers! I haven't had more than two or three in three years. Guess I've just been lucky! I surely don't blame you for putting word verification back on and it certainly won't keep me from visiting/commenting as always.

OH!! I'm so sorry to hear! Well, I guess Blogger has a very good reason for having the spam codes.. Not all getting spam, but of those who do.. it's a problem.. To me I can read the difficult codes ok.. :)Not every time though.. but most.. But I must admit they ar more difficult to read.. but one must, one must, and it goes fine to me :)
ReplyDeleteNo worries, Al! Spam is very bad indeed. I also will be here looking and commenting your gorgeous pictures. Thanks for your explanations.
ReplyDeleteI turning the comment word verification off onb my blog because Blogger did more difficult words to read.
So I continue moderating the comments. Till now, fortunately I have been having few spams.
Comment moderation stops that, I hate that Captcha thing.
