Tina's PicStory theme for the week is simply "E". And around here, E can represent the Evergreen trees that are so prevalent (various pine trees); they need to be able to survive year-round and shed the snows that can happen for 10 months of the year at our high altitudes (don't feel bad for us, as those same altitudes give the sun year-round warmth, we can be out in short-sleeves shirts in the middle of winter and get 300 days of sunshine in an average year). These photos are all taken in the nearby Black Forest Regional Park. We start with a shot of the trail winding through the trees.
I love the long morning shadows.
And those glorious Colorado blue skies!
Here's a view of Pikes Peak from the park.
And a soccer field - lots of kids will be playing here later in the day. The field is surrounded by those ever-present evergreens.
This is my part of Our World Tuesday.
Such a gorgeous place to walk, Al! I do love your blue skies and the peek at Pikes Peak! Marvelous captures for the day! Have a great week!

Hi Al :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have paths like that too. High and over look about three counties... No mountains though.
Maldives is as far south as we go.
No tree's on Easter Is... why on earth would we want to go there :-) ?

I love the view of Pikes Peak, we have visited there about three times in my youth. It brings back wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteE is for Evergreen! I can almost smell them. I like the morning shadows also.
ReplyDeleteThe pines seem to be the perfect things as they ground rises to the treeline full of evergreens. Perhaps they breathe better at the altitude than the regular trees with lots of leaves that might easily crash to the ground - the needles are impervious to the splintering snows. The hardy pines are perfect in surviving whatever nature throws at them - and stand tall and proud still!
ReplyDeleteApart from the mountain these pines could be in Georgia. We are surrounded by pines which is why I cannot have a garden – too much shade. I really enjoyed your pictures of South Korean.

ReplyDeleteThose blue skies did my heart good. We haven't seen a lot of blue here in Vancouver recently, although the mist has its own charm :) Loved this glimpse into your part of the world. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat Photos, it's nice idea for the E like evergreen

Again great photos. I love trees and your first two shots of the coniferous forest take me to forests I have loved, in Scotland and Finland.
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos especially the shadows of the trees in the woodland.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful view!
