Temple Turtle

I wish I could remember the story behind this turtle in a South Korean Buddhist temple, but I don't.
But it's still my Vintage Weekly post for the week.

  6. He looks like he has a full load on his back. Are those symbols on the pillar words? Or do they stand for something that would explain the significance? Oh well, it is a very interesting installation whatever its meaning.
