B-52 at Night

Here are some more night photos from the United States Air Force Academy this weekend, showing scenes more commonly photographed in daylight - this time it's the B-52 bomber.
It's a real B-52 that flew many combat missions, now mounted for an impressive display.
I liked the moon behind the plane in that last shot. It was also the highest ISO I used, 12,800.

  2. Your night photos are fantastic! In the early 60s, my dad was a navigator on a B-52. He has some great photos of his plane refueling in midair.

  9. I've never tried night shots like these, Al - at least none I'll admit to! Great shots of the plane in the moonlight. I just got an E-mail from a friend who lives in the Springs saying you have about 4" of snow. We've got about 2 feet so far and still snowing.

  12. Great night shots! I love that you photographed the B-52 at night! Yes, we were in Co Springs back in July, visiting friends as part of our trip. Had been there before when our daughter was a baby, though. Just loved every inch of that trip, including the Springs.
