This photo was taken for Skywatch Friday on a short Saturday hike, with fresh snow on the Peak and those beautiful Colorado blue skies.

More Shots of Socks
If I'm hiking, I try to take a photo of at least one of the dogs. So here are some shots of Socks hiking Red Rock Canyon with me.

Green Skies?
No, it's nothing natural. I was playing with a green laser on a foggy night. For Skywatch Friday.

Cold Red Rock Canyon
Continuing with photos from Red Rock Canyon, it was colder than those photos last week showed.
And this sign was from some terrible flooding the previous fall, which did serious damage to several city parks.

Mount Sherman (1)
In Colorado, there are over 50 mountains higher than 14,000 feet (4,267 meters). These are called 14ers, and people love to climb them. For Vintage Weekly, here's the first of a series from 1997 when I climbed Mount Sherman, elevation 14,036 feet (4,278 meters). Mount Sherman is a popular first 14er as it's a relatively short and easy trail - six to eight miles (10 - 13 km) round trip depending on where you park. The building is an abandoned mine.

Night Cloud
I've posted a couple of shots of this storm before, but I loved how the lightning lit it up, so here's another shot of it.
