Last week's photo from the air was taken as I was on a jet flying just north of Long Island, near New York City. It's 118 miles (190 km) long, and at its eastern end splits into two very distinct forks. I was very pleased to see and photograph this from the airplane, and was thinking about making it a Skywatch Friday post as I took the photo.
I love photos taken from a plane and have done it often myself. Now I also know what Long Island looks like! Thanks for sharing. Jo
