Black Forest Park

One of my favorite nearby places is Black Forest Regional Park.
It's 385 acres of rolling hills and forests.
Unfortunately it was scarred by a serious wildfire a couple of years ago (a fire which destroyed almost 500 homes and killed two people), but it's still a wonderful place to go for a walk with the dogs.
It's even got a couple of ponds.
I'm sure I'll be back many more times.

  2. It's sad to hear about the fire but it's an opportunity for nature to start again. I have to say that it has a unique beauty, even looking charred.

  9. The green part is beautiful, the blackened trees a bit scary even after the fact. But I'm glad you showed the contrast.

  11. Undoubtedly, it is a beautiful place to take long walks.
Around here, my favorite forest is beech and oak.

  12. Black Forest Regional Park looks wonderful!
I am sorry that the forest was scarred by a wildfire and destroyed almost 500 homes and killed two people, so sad...
    The ponds looks beautiful too.

  13. That was sad, but it remained lovely. Temperate country forests look so organized and clean underneath, unlike ours here in the tropics. Ours are really thick and can't be easily entered, a bit scary. I will be so privileged if i will be able to hike a forest like yours. I've seen a few in Turkey and in Sweden, but i didn't have time to enter even a bit.

My reply to your comment in my post: Hahaha yes of course, it really will be funny for people in temperate countries. The more you will laugh if you know that we only have a mountain range that has "colder temps", meaning compared to what we have here at above 30C. When temps get to 20C, that is already cold in our standards. LOL
