Inside Himeji Castle

This week I'll show you the inside of Himeji Castle. It's beautifully kept, though mostly empty.
To help keep it in pristine condition, shoes aren't allowed in the building. That's fine by me as that's how we live anyway.
In a couple of places my ultra-wide fisheye lens was useful.
Next week I'll probably show you views from the top.

  2. Interesting architecture. Not the usual stone built castles that we have here.

  3. Those are large rooms inside. We also remove our shoes when at home--more sanitary

  4. Hello, it is an interesting castle. Much is dark wood, not what I would expect for some reason. Happy Labor Day, have a great new week ahead!

  6. So beautiful ... light and space... it does not need a lot of "stuff". Sock feet would be great with us too -- that's how we live as well.

  10. Nice chance to see a castle with the warmth of wood in contrast to the castles of stone found in other parts of the world.
