Last week I showed you the main area of Fushimi Inari Taisha (伏見稲荷大社). This shrine is most famous for it's 10,000 tori gates, presenting a truly unique beauty.
As you walk through the gates up the mountain you encounter many smaller shrines.
And the tori gates continue, an incredible number of them. Looking back you can see Japanese characters on them.
The whole area is stunningly beautiful.
This is one of the world's must-see sights.
Wonderful photos of this unique site. Good post, Al.

ReplyDeleteIt looks a very special place. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeletePretty shrine
ReplyDeleteI have seen this place before in friends photos, but always the inside view, so I was very interested to see the outside view and that the poles are apart and going through woodland. Thank you for sharing today. I am visiting you from Our World Tuesday. Happy travels.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! I never get tired of seeing pictures of these gates. How much of a walk is it to the top?
ReplyDeleteWow - so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos of Fushimi Inari! The first photo would make people feel like time warp into another world by walking through the gates. You magically took pictures without people. The place is always bustling with people.
