Most of the year we have beautiful weather here in Colorado. But it can be very unpredictable - 60 degrees F (16 C) in January and snow in May. For my Skywatch Friday posts, I try not to post the boring pictures of blue skies, but instead the more interesting skies when it snows or rains. And this week's pictures are of some snow we received this past Sunday, May 2. First is the gray/white sky with snow starting to stick to a pine tree behind our house, then the threatening clouds after the snow, and finally snow on a pine tree.
For warmer skies around the world, visit the Skywatch Friday home page.
Wow. I have so many memories of the oddities of Colorado Springs weather ... much different than here in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteI remember a Friday with 18 inches of snow on the ground ... and a BBQ on Sunday with 70 degrees!
Beautiful snow pictures. sigh.
Terrific captures, Al! Nothing like unpredictable weather! So, what's up for the weekend??? Skiing or a picnic?? Probably won't know until Saturday morning! Whatever, have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteSpring snow can seem colder than winter snow, somehow.

Great shots. Nature is loosing grip on the climate. In Europe it snowed in France and Spain this week where it is supposed to be at least 25C.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been unpredictable everywhere this year. However, your part of the world is noted for a lot of snow. My niece has a cabin near Hartsel and they are going this month to open it for the spring. They may have a hard time doing so.
ReplyDeletereminds me of christmas! :D you've got one unpredictable weather!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Colorado is such a gorgeous state (at least the parts of it I've seen).
ReplyDeleteDarned snow has no quit this year. I love it but put the skis away 2 weeks ago, more than ready to start waving a stick around while standing in the river...
ReplyDeleteOh ya! That is Colorado. I lived in Broomfield and Boulder. I've got stories too!
