On Monday I posted about the United States Forest Service memorial grove. I found it near this trail, simply called USFS Trail 715. It was overcast most of the hike, as shown by this very ordinary photo.
I tried to find things that might be interesting in the very flat light, such as this long-dead tree.
I imagine a bike rider was very unhappy when he lost his chain!
And finally, some sunshine brightened everything up.
It's not the most beautiful hike in the area, but it's nearby and sometimes that's a good thing. And it's my Scenic Sunday entry for the week.
Beautiful pictures! And I just love the first one here! I like old dead trees! :) (As long as we have green living trees among.. :)) )
ReplyDeleteSecond shot: Oh, I hope it was not a bicycle accident!! :O
Hehe, fun to imagine though.. :))
A flat golden landscape on the last one! With an enormous view! :)
Greetings from Viola, waiting for the storm to come tonight....! :))
Very nice photo work, I like it very well ...

Great shots as always, Al! I do love that old dead tree! What interesting, shapes and twisted limbs! Looks something like how I felt getting out of bed this morning!! Hope you and Socks have a great weekend!

Three great pictures. The first seems an abstraction.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Interesting, great captures! The long dead-tree looks like a monster with many limbs - it must be alive actually. I’m fascinated by the bleak spaciousness of the place in the last photo.
ReplyDeletenice photos, congratulations
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Al!
ReplyDeleteI love the second one...
Weekend greetings from Holland,

I love the gnarly tree 'stump'...beautiful hike and looks like one I could take in Colorado (b/c it's not straight up the side of a mountain.)

ReplyDeleteOlá, amigo!
As fotos estão bonitas mas a paisagem solitária e desolada.
Boa semana!

This sure looks like beautiful country, even on flat-light days!
ReplyDeleteLove the last shot!
ReplyDeleteThe bike chain in that position is a very dramatic find for your hike.
