Stanley Park

This week's theme at Tina's PicStory is "A Walk In The Park," and I think one of the best city parks I've ever seen is Vancouver's Stanley Park. So here are a couple of shots of rainforest growth that I took on a trail in that park last May. It's also a wonderful part of Our World Tuesday.
This is a large and varied park, and I've got more photos to come.

  3. That is a beautiful Park and it's been too long since we've been to Vancouver/Victoria -- used to be one of our favorite getaway places when we lived in Oregon. (Now when we get back to Oregon in the summer, we just stay there -- I love it, but we've got to revisit some of our old favorites like this area too!)

  5. Lovely shots. The impression so far is of a park far more wild than any I've seen here in the UK. I would love to visit Vancouver some day.

  6. Rain forests are filled with wonders and velvety coverings of mosses is just one of them. The bent trees are like sculptures and don't you just love the smell of a rain forest?

  7. The rich green moss gives us a glimpse of the deep dense moist undergrowth......I can almost smell the woody air.

  8. I am loving that moss - though not so much all the rain that helped produce it!

  10. I like a troll in a park that has a level and wide walkway surrounded with a very un-cultivated forest. The fallen trees and trunks full of moss are wonderful as they are not at all cultivated. These views allow the viewers to feel as if they are actually there!

  12. There is nothing quite like the old growth forests of the Pacific Northwest. I love the lush green moss and lichens but your b/w photo is my favorite.
