I really liked the outline of the cloud and the two lightning strikes in this photo I took back in the middle of last August, so in the absence of anything recent it's my Skywatch Friday entry for the week.
I'm frequently asked how I get my lightning shots - go to this post to see my explanation.
Your lightening shots are so awesome, Al! This one is dramatic! I'm amazed at how perfectly you capture shots like this -- I shouldn't be amazed considering what a terrific photographer you are!! Hope your week is going well!

that´s soooo amazing and beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteYou can post your amazing lightening bolts anytime -- they are awe-inspiring. AND they remind me of Colorado, so I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent shot. You know, the funny part is that right now I hear thunder and I just saw lightning. It is almost 10 PM though so I am not going outside to try to take a picture – I prefer to look at yours!
ReplyDeleteCiao Al, I do not think it's very easy to photograph lightning, this photo is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteHave a good day!
Your lightening photo are really breathtaking, Al! Well done!

Espetacular imagem! Como consegui fotografar um raio? Amei isso! Parabéns!
ReplyDeleteAnother beaut! Gotta get myself a tripod!
ReplyDeleteWow - so dramatic and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI notice you have word verification on... those words are so hard to read! You might consider turning it off?
Wow- that is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite unusual to be able to capture two bolts of lightning behind a fearsomely black cloud. This is a great photo.
ReplyDeleteReally awesome picture!
ReplyDeleteLike it very much!
Awesome! how i wish i could take a photo as beautiful as that...still a lot of things to learn for me. Thanks for sharing...

Another great capture, Al. This is one of my favorites!!
ReplyDeleteReally awesome shot, practically all lightning shots and taken using BULB setting on a DSLR where you can open and close the shutter at will rather timing it which is more difficult as lightning is unpredictable and very fast. Tripod is essential too:D ( you probably can do it on a compact camera, but it has to be one that has a manual mode)
ReplyDeleteI don't like this new comment system format they have introduced, its awful:( wish they would stop changing everything.
Oh my...!!!! You are just the professional in taking ligtening pictures!! You could publish a very interesting book, you know? :)
