Here's a sign I saw walking around downtown San Luis Obispo, one that doesn't inspire confidence...
Ironically it was on the tourist information building! For those who use the translate function on the blog, it says: "Earthquake Warning. This is an unreinforced masonry building. You may not be safe inside or near unreinforced masonry buildings during an earthquake." Visit Signs, Signs for more interesting signs of all types.
I don't think I could live in a zone that could have a quake any minute.
ReplyDeleteNo indeed!! Certainly wouldn't inspire confidence for me, I know!! What a great sign though for the day, Al! Hope your week is going well. Give Socks a pat for me!
ReplyDeleteEach area seems to have its own issues. No rain here so my small pasture around the house is brown and some areas have nothing but weeds. Still need to keep it mowed down because of the danger of fire. Stay safe.♥♫
ReplyDeleteIf they put the tourism office in that building, they shouldn't be trusted for good decisions, but they tops for honesty! As a whole it is a bit ridiculous, haha!
ReplyDeleteI took a photo of this exact sign in downtown SLO! Small world! We keep our earthquakes and everybody else can keep their tornadoes and hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteScary sign.
ReplyDeletei remember having earthquake drills in elementary school (i'm originally from san diego)
ReplyDeleteOh! It's really a scary warning.
ReplyDeleteAs I live in Brazil and we don't have earthquakes, for me it is a scary signs.
Ha-ha! I need a sign like that for the building I work in. I don't think it would withstand an earthquake either.
ReplyDeletethat sign doesn't grant one feelings of security to enter!
ReplyDeleteThat's more than a bit eerie! We're never entirely safe from Mother Nature I guess.
ReplyDeleteThat's rather unsettling!
ReplyDeleteHi Al, nice to "meet" you. So glad you are safe after our fire. What a scary time.
ReplyDeleteI am back after a trip. I looked at your past photos – that cloud from the fire looks scary. Once I saw a fire in Montana and it was also scary, but then earthquakes are scary too – I felt several tremors when I used to live in San Francisco, so I guess it’s better not being scared, as there is always something…
