Arguably the biggest attraction at the Ronald Reagan Library & Museum is Air Force One. Obviously it's not the current one, but it was in service from 1973 to 2001 and carried Presidents Nixon, Carter, Ford, Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Clinton and George W. Bush.
While you can walk through it (a fascinating experience where the history is palpable), photos are not allowed within, so all I have are these exterior shots.
There's also a Marine One, the helicopter that flies the President.
Great, interesting shots for the day, Al, as always! Hope all is going well for you! Give Socks a pat for me! Wishing you a great week ahead!!
ReplyDeleteyou've had quite the trip to share... air force one looks huge in your pics. a shame you couldn't take pictures of the inside. and air force one helicopter is not something i knew about but it makes sense to have one. hope all is well. have a great day~
ReplyDeletegoing through this plane would be so exciting to me! too bad no pics are available. I figure it's for safety of our presidents.
ReplyDeleteWow - cool to see the aircraft that carried so many presidents.

That was really interesting. I would love to see the inside of Air Force 1! I did see it in the sky once, leaving an airport. Probably the closest I'll ever get!
ReplyDeletedid you get to go inside the plane?
ReplyDeleteInteresting subjects. These machines thrill me.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the aircraft!
ReplyDeleteIncredible displays at the museum.
ReplyDeleteJust amazing post, Al!
ReplyDeleteGive to Socks big hugs.
In Tucson we visited the air and space museum and saw the plane that was President Eisenhower's. I know what you mean by the sense of history being palpable (though I would rather see this later version).
ReplyDeleteHey Al So pleased it wasn't me that had to polish on and polish off :-) Good shots :-) x x x

Nice photos of presidential aircraft. I'll bet that Marine One was the same helicopter that President Nixon entered when he left the White House in disgrace. Yes, a great deal of history.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing these pics. After I saw the movie 'air force one'I always felt intrigued by this machine that carried the most powerful person on earth :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice photos Al. Especially of AF1. I hate it when the ban photos at various places. In a technical sense, there is no reason for it.
