Another Great Ski Day

The calendar may say spring, but I went skiing again yesterday - there's been two feet of new snow at the ski areas in the last week so the conditions were great on the mountain (although the powder was skied off). And there weren't any crowds - I didn't wait in a lift line once!
Let's go down this trail and see what it looks like.
Steep! (If you don't know about trail signs, a double-diamond is an expert-only run.)
I'll never tire of mountain views in the winter, and where better to get them than on the slopes?
Final statistics according to my GPS watch: 31.8 miles (51.2 km) covered including chairlift rides, maximum speed 33.84 MPH (54.46 kph). And lots of space to move!

  1. I agree, skiing is a great way to see the mountain scenery. We're still skiing here in Oregon too. As a matter of fact, we got three feet last week. :)

  5. Hello Al, I am so jealous of your wonderful opportunity to go skiing. We skied our West in the US for many years but because of two knee replacements we do not ski anymore. So enjoy skiing as long as you can. BTW, the last time I skied I didn't have to pay for my lift tickets because of my age. I had a grand time needless to say. Your photos are lovely.

Thanks for joining Blue Monday at Backyard Neighbor.

You are right about the color of the Western blue jay. He was a beauty.

  10. About 20 min.higher than where I live are ski slopes, and when we go back home, coming from the valley we always know when a new pack of snow has fallen in the weekend - many cars coming back from the mountains! Many thanks for linking up with Seasons! I appreciate it and hope to "see"you back next week!

  14. Oh wonderful news for skiers and snow boarders. I hear that there's also a lot of snow still in the Sierra. We haven't been to the mountains this season yet.

  18. Great photos of Copper! Isn't this spring snow something? I hear you're getting snow/wind in the Springs today. Same here. Too windy to be outside but should be good skiing tomorrow.

  21. It must be so much fun skiing down the slopes. The white landscapes are beautiful. Most part of my life I had stayed in Rajasthan (India) which is a desert. Walking up and down the sand dunes used to be fun. Unlike skiing it is a very slow activity, nevertheless thrilling :)
