Red Rock Canyon Open Space

I went for a walk this morning in Red Rock Canyon, a relatively new city park just south of Garden Of The Gods. The weather was threatening initially but lifted, making for a couple of interesting photographs. The first one is looking towards Garden Of The Gods.

I thought the light in this one was interesting.

And I found a wild cactus in bloom, something I don't see very often.

Baby Birds

Our house is surrounded by prairie grass that can get fairly tall in the summer. Birds nest on the ground, digging into clumps of the grass; I don't cut this natural grass back, and as a result we have a lot of birds around our house. The eggs have now hatched.

Cute Animal At Zoo

This is not a stuffed animal. It's a live one at the Denver Zoo.

Florida

We went to Disneyworld and also spent a day at the beach, so here are a couple of rare non-Colorado photos. First here's Cocoa Beach.

Fox Run Park

Taken while taking my dog for a walk in the local park today, about a mile and a half from the house. The first one reminds me of a line from an old Yes song, "mountains come out of the sky and they stand there."

I love that Colorado blue sky.
