Happy Labor Day to my American readers! I love the central California coast and one of the best places to see it is the Montaña de Oro State Park.
This isn't the warm Southern California beach - it's rugged and inaccessible, except for the few roads in the area.
There are a lot of cliffs.
And on a stormy day like this I think it has a unique beauty.

This looks a lot like the Oregon coast. And I like my beaches this way!

Amazing views.Awesome clicks.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda W., and can take it even further...I've always loved this part of the California coast, because it is so much like, yes, the Oregon coast, but also the Washington coast and even farther north to my birthplace: British Columbia.

Way more my kind of beach than the typical SoCA ones people think of as typical California beaches. I could spend hours gazing at this one -- and just walking .
ReplyDeleteRugged sure is the word
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you! Monta~a de Oro is one of the most beautiful parks in California. I have been wanting to go back for a long time. We walked a big chunk of it but I am sure we missed some nice parts.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We live in San Diego and have the swimming / more calm beaches, but the ruggedness of the central coast is breathtaking.
