Osaka Buildings

For Skywatch Friday, here are a couple of famous buildings in Osaka. The first is self-explanatory.
Our hotel was right next to the Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル), which is actually two connected 40-story towers.
Completed in 1993, it's one of the most interesting buildings I've ever seen. I used my ultra-wide-angle fisheye lens for the next couple of shots. (Yes, I was an obvious tourist carrying my DSLR and bag of lenses all around Japan and Seoul.)
Unfortunately we didn't get time to go up it as we did so much else in the area in the couple of days we were there.

  1. Your efforts carrying all those lenses paid off in some fine photos. Well done.

  4. Cool perspectives!! You wouldn't have bought the lenses if you didn't intend to carry them around...

  6. Incredible buildings and beautiful shots. I like your "looking up" perspective shots, and the fisheye works great for pulling in both towers down to ground level.

  7. Wow! Japan is probably not a place where people would look down on you for carrying camera gear is it? Since most of what we use comes from there and all tourists I’ve met from there carry gear when they’re visiting here. (We’ve had some nice conversations, sometimes in sign language when we were full-time RVers). I only wish we’d been able to travel more out of this country. So many beautiful places, so many nice people .....
