Laika's Back!

A few months ago we looked after a little dog named Laika for a few days. She came back to visit us again!

She's a cutie...

...friendly and playful...

And she gets on well with Socks too.

Seattle Waterfront

From a spring trip to Seattle, here are a couple of photos of the waterfront. I liked this railing.

The Ferris Wheel was new since last time we were there.

Arnhem

I promised I would move away from Garden of the Gods, so this is about as far as I can go. My notes indicate this old slide was taken near Arnhem (Holland) in 1976.

GOG Rocks

From the same early-morning walk in Garden of the Gods as the last post, here are some of the rock formations for which the park is famous.

Seattle Market Signs

Here are some of my favorite signs from the famous Public Market in Seattle, from our trip back in March. First, the famous sign on a clear day, from a different angle than usually seen.

Aspen, Fall 1995

For a Vintage Weekly and Scenic Weekends post, I'm going back to the fall of 1995 when I was camping near the town of Aspen, Colorado. It's a scanned slide, and there are several more beauties to come from this trip.

New Lightning

I was finally able to get some lightning photos from this summer, and here's the first.

The orange light in the background is because the storm was towards Denver, so the city lights create that color in that part of the sky. It's not the cleanest because the photo is cropped, but it will have to do. It's for my favorite meme, Skywatch Friday.

Seattle Duck Ride

While we were in Seattle back in March we rode one of those amphibious ducks. They start on land, then go into one of the lakes.

I always like a city skyline seen from the water.

And the views of an old gasworks, now a park, are unusual.
