Fountains & Rocks

For this week's Our World Tuesday post, here are a couple of completely different parts of the world. I'll start with my last photos from Charleston, a couple of pretty fountains.
I liked the way this next one was lit from behind.
And finally, on Friday I was at one of Colorado's most famous venues, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, to see a rock concert. Here's a shot from my cell phone.

Charleston Streets

Here are more shots around the beautiful city of Charleston.
There are alleys and metal balconies.
Some of the streets are cobblestone.
There are even old-fashioned gas lamps.

Charleston - Custom House & Market

This post will highlight a couple of the most famous buildings in Charleston. First is the United States Customs House.
Completed in 1879, it's one of the city's most distinctive buildings.
I loved this tree in the side yard - there's nothing like this where I live.
The City Market is a bustling place with lots of vendors selling things to tourists, and definitely worth a look.

Charleston Bridge

I always like photographing bridges, and so here's the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, in downtown Charleston, South Carolina.
And of course I had to get it with a ship in the frame - two impressive human creations.
And simply because this seems to be a water-themed post, here's a shot of one of the many rivers in the area, I don't remember exactly which one.

Boats in Charleston

I was busy with family activities the last couple of weeks so I skipped blogging, but I'm back. Up next are some boats from when we were in Charleston last fall.
I love the swampy areas around Charleston.
There's quite a contrast between these two vessels!

Carolina Surfing!

California may be famous for surfing, but it's common on the East Coast too, as is paddleboarding.
These folks looked like they were enjoying themselves in the wavy water.
All in all, a great day!

Folly Beach Pier

Last week I showed you Folly Beach, and this week I'll highlight its pier.
I always find piers to be fun photography subjects, from every angle.
And what can beat a nice day at the beach?
Next week I'll show you some surfers.

Folly Beach

For Our World Tuesday, here are a few pictures from Folly Beach, near Charleston, from last autumn.
I love the ocean, and living in the middle of a continent sometimes I miss it.
The people living in these houses see it every day, although I'm not sure I'd want to be there in a hurricane!

Palm Tree

I always love palm trees as I've never lived anywhere warm enough for them to grow. For Skywatch Friday, here's one from the Charleston area.

Foggy Swamp

I recently spent a week vacationing in the southeast United States, and here's a Skywatch Friday photo from Charleston on a foggy morning taken near our hotel. There are lots more photos to come from this trip!
