Large Horses

For the fun Camera Critters meme, here are some photos of the horses that pulled the sleds during our Keystone trip. They were some of the largest horses I've ever been close to, and I thought they posed nicely for the camera.
And don't forget my new Sunday Scans meme goes live tomorrow or Sunday depending on where you live - if you've got scans you'd like to post, this is the place to link them!

Sleigh Ride

Going back to Keystone one more time, here are some photos from the sleigh ride we took.
The ride goes out to an old camp with some wonderful wooden buildings. You can take an evening sleigh ride here and have dinner, but we just did the daytime ride.
But the main attraction for me was the gorgeous, unspoiled beauty.

Sleigh Skies

We've had a dramatic weather change in the last few days. Over the weekend we were as warm as 52.5° F (11.4° C), but by Monday night we went down to -19.5° F (-28.6° C). That's a change of 72° F (40° C) in just a couple of days - more than some locations see in a year! That's what living at high altitude in the middle of a continent can be like.

Unfortunately it's hard to photograph temperature changes, so here are a couple of peaceful Skywatch photographs from our sleigh ride at Keystone on Sunday. There was lots of snow on the ground, but it was a beautiful day.

Keystone

We just got back from a weekend at the Keystone Ski Resort. Although I didn't ski, I had a fun time with the family and got lots of photos to share. I'll start with several random ones, but there are much better shots to come. First is the view off the deck of the condo in which we stayed.
I was amused at the unit number of the condo. One of my favorite rock bands is called Rush, and they've got a famous album called 2112. So, while it may not make sense to most of my readers, here's the door of our unit.
I liked the way the sunlight was playing on the cables of these lifts high up the mountain.
And finally, I found the following pedestrian tunnel under the highway interesting.
There's more to come, including jagged mountains and a sleigh ride. In the meantime, you never know what you'll see at My World Tuesday.
