Maine Ferry

Taken on a cloudy day from a trip back in June that I'm finally posting about. This one's for Scenic Weekends.

Grey Beach

From the mountains last weekend, I'm going back to a Massachusetts beach in June on a grey day for my Skywatch Friday post.

Copper Mountain

I went skiing for the first time in over 10 years on Saturday, thanks to a promotional season pass for Copper Mountain Resort. (All photos are taken with my old point-and-shoot camera as I didn't want to ski with the big one.)
It was a perfect blue-sky Colorado day and I couldn't imagine anything I'd rather be doing. I had an absolute blast and I'm sure I'll be out several more times this winter.
After a few rusty turns it all came back and it was like I never took a ten-year break.
Which way should I go? (For non-skiers, in the U.S.A. black-diamond runs are classified "most difficult" or "expert terrain"; the only higher classification is "experts only".)
Let's try some moguls.
I went down this run.
There were no cliffs, but a couple of moderately steep stretches.

RMNP 1997 (2)

Here's another photo from a short 1997 visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. As you can tell we didn't have great weather on the trip.

Plane!

I loved this sky while waiting for our airplane to leave at Denver International Airport.

Boston's Old North End

A bustling area full of life, people, and cars...
...delicious desserts...
...and an occasional place of quiet.

Wingaersheek Beach

A few months ago we spent a little time in the Boston area. Of course I had to get to the beach - in this case Wingaersheek Beach, in West Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Although the weather was overcast I was glad to be there, as it's not something we experience where I live.
I loved the sand dunes...
...and of course the boats on the water...
...and did I mention the sand dunes!
