We're getting into the time of year when it's harder to get good photos for Skywatch Friday - for the next few months it's usually cloudless blue, or occasionally simple gray when snow is falling. I was hoping to get photos of last nights snow before I went to work this morning, but the clouds stuck around and the flat light would have made any photos boring. So I'm reaching into my archives from late last year for these.
That photo was taken walking into this tunnel, on Gold Camp Road just above Colorado Springs.
Enjoy lots more skies from around the world at Skywatch Friday.

Gorgeous photos! I love the colour and arch of the rock over the path.
ReplyDeleteI guess a lot of us are having to reach into the archives, Al, but these are gorgeous! Beautiful skies but I also love color of the stone, the arch and the rich green of the trees. Lovely shadows as well! Hope your week is going well. Enjoy your evening!

An interesting way to view the sky.
ReplyDeleteSeems like our winter sunsets are really great, but they really haven't started showing yet.
Fabulous photos! From what I've seen it doesn't seem possible that you'd have boring skies there. Is it really snowing already? Wow :-D
ReplyDeletesuch a great pics!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot!

Buona giornata :)

Very creative! :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots of the tunnel coming and going. The sky is such a lovely blue. Beautiful day for a stroll down the lane.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot !!
ReplyDeleteI am looking at the tunnel and I don't see any reinforcements within..makes me wonder how safe it is to drive through.
It makes a good frame. Sometimes all we can do is go to the archive or make an uninteresting shot just to say "this is what it's like around here"
ReplyDeleteLovely day for a drive through a tunnel.

They may be getting hard for you to find pretty skies, but nature certainly provided you with some pretty shots today.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!! it's so difficult to balance the exposure, but you managed it - well done!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness would I love to see this in person. It is gorgeous. I love the colors...so Colorado looking. My son was married in Cuchara and we went up to Rocky Mt. National Park. We LOVE it out there and hope to return before too many years pass.
ReplyDeleteLove your title. Must be nice to go inside.
ReplyDeleteThe tunnel makes a nice frame for the sky shot...
ReplyDeletePixellicious Photos
Outstanding!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend :)
Look at the tunnel, I would never have thought I would see such a view from within it. I like the natural frame of the sky. The one I put up today has a natural frame, too. :-)

Mid-morning in my Hometown
Hello, dear Ed! Thank you for your kind comments about my photography. It has been a difficult month, or two around here--so I'm totally behind in most things.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog--and I adore this wonderful photo in particular. May I share this photo, and your blog and photography on FAT Tuesday (Featured Art Tuesday) Artist Spotlight this coming week?
