Rocky Mountain Memorial Grove

Hiking near where I live in the Monument area I ran across the United States Forest Service's Rocky Mountain region memorial grove.
It was established in 1920 to honor those employees who died in World War I. It has now been expanded to honor all employees and former employees who have passed away. Plaques are mounted on the bronze sculpture to recognize them. And that's my Our World Tuesday post for the week.

  5. You live in such high mountains. The colors seem to have muted except evergreens before the first snow. Nice and quiet place to honor and remember those who contributed to the area.

  7. Nice to have a park to remember these people. War has never been kind to anyone.
