Back in 1997 when we were in Hawaii, this was the view from our hotel room just north of Kona. To an Englishman like me, this looks like paradise! (I still remember the tsunami evacuation signs, something I've never seen anywhere I live.)
It's another in my never-ending series of scanned photos.

Wonderful view!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIts a really beautiful shot, I started a meme on vintage photography shots ( I believe Sunday Scans went) and I have a feeling not many people still have old photos lying around-my father has loads and I have many in albums going back to 1989. Nice shot, good quality:)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely shot. Tsunami evacuation signs I had learnt about them in geog. but until the devastating one in Asia some years ago I didn't realise the power they could have. Paradise has its down side I guess.
ReplyDeleteI've been to Hawaii a couple of times and I wouldn't mind being there right now.. Thanks for the post
ReplyDeleteBeautiful memories of a beautiful spot! We went to the Caribbean about that long ago, that's where we saw those Tsunami warning/evacuation route signs -- and then just a few months later on a weekend at (our own) Oregon Coast, the same signs were being put up. Guess there's no place completely safe on this earth ;>)
