For this week's Scenic Sunday post we're going back to the exact same spot we visited last week, Vancouver Harbor. This time the photos are taken at dusk (all handheld as I didn't have a tripod - it can be done if you've got a fast lens, even with a low-end DSLR like mine). The lights on the hill in the back of this first one is a ski area, although it wasn't operating in the summer.
Here's the gas station for boats.
You can see the Lion's Gate Bridge lit up in the middle of this one.
And finally, I enjoyed seeing the seaplanes here - that's not something I'll see in my part of the world!

These are very impressive night photos, it looks wonderful..
ReplyDeleteI liked your pictures very well...
Best regards, Karin
Fascinating shots of beautiful night views! I think I know how you were excited with these scenes coming from the heart of the mountains as I‘m always excited to see the sea in my hometown Kobe since Nara is surrounded by the mountains.
ReplyDeleteThese are very good pictures. I am surprised they are so clear without a tripod. I can’t take night pictures with my Nikon D40 but I can with my other camera which is not a DSLR, my Sony. I like the last one with all the building lights and the sea plane.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous captures, Al! I do love your night shots! Beautiful place! I've had pretty good luck catching some shots without a tripod -- I have one, but somehow never have it with me when a great night shot is suddenly available! Hope you have a great weekend! Give Socks a hug from Sam and I!

ReplyDeleteFabulous scenery and wonderful night shots and reflections! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots :)
ReplyDeletedid you wear a sweater yesterday in Vancouver?
ReplyDeleteReally nice shots Al, like the "blue hour" shot. I think any DSLR is more capable in low light conditions with or without a tripod, as apposed to a compact camera. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful night shots! The lights and reflections are gorgeous. Lovely scenic shots. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe city lights are so pretty! Love the mood in the last photo...perfect for taking a night walk around the harbor :D
ReplyDeleteFantastic night photos, Al.
ReplyDeleteNice weekend for you and good photos!
Fantastic night shots! The seaplanes are very cool.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I especially like the last shot of the seaplanes. Will you consider entering it in my 'Weekly Top Shot' meme? We're on Week #17 and I'd love to see you share with me and my readers! Here's this weeks' link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=6220

ReplyDeleteI love to see night scene like this, it's beautiful, I love it.
ReplyDeleteYou did a super job with these! I don't think I have a fast enough lens to do this without a tripod.
