July 4th is the U.S.A.'s Independence Day.
Happy July 4th!
All photographs were captured hand-held at last year's fireworks display at the United States Air Force Academy - due to the extreme dryness there won't be any displays this year. And I'm linking it to Skywatch Friday.
The wildfire is largely under control at this point, and hopefully it won't flare up again.

Happy birthday, America! Great celebratory post you have here. Thanks for sharing. And thanks to all who fought the wildfire--their steadfastness has resulted in safety for so many.
ReplyDeletethose firework photos are impressive especially knowing that you hand held the camera throughout the shoot. i can't hold a camera with really low shutter speeds. hope you & your family are having a great July 4th~
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine that next year's celebrations in Colorado are going to be spectacular to make up for missing this year ... and the tragedy the fires brought to so many people. I hear things are improving ... you are still in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Al. Such a shame how the weather has been so cruel to so many. :(
ReplyDeleteAmazing fireworks in the sky. Wish you happy Independence Day.

WOW! Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteReally SUPERB shots!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures (your night photography never fails to amaze me)...but I am glad they are last year's memories. This is definitely no year for fireworks in your neck of the woods! Glad also of course to know that things are getting under control.
ReplyDeleteI loved the moon over the flag! Just too good...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Have a happy weekend and happy sky watching!

ReplyDeleteUnderstandable about the fireworks this year. Wishing you improved weather conditions.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me to be a late comer. The shots of fireworks and the collaboration of the crescent moon and the Stars and Stripes are stunning. Wish you rainfall in the dry area.
