Here is the first in a series of posts from Avila Beach, not far from San Luis Obispo in California. We were there earlier this year when we helped our daughter move.
I thought it was very beautiful, so different from my part of the country.
And it's always a treat to be near breaking waves.
To see lots more beautiful scenes visit Scenic Sunday.

what a vista to behold! I have friends who live in the vicinity. How fortunate they and your daughter are.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do agree! What a vista indeed and what beautiful beaches! Awesome captures for the day, Al! Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy!

Love the sea!
About your comment on my curent post: I also love reading! Like you, I usually have more than a book going on. Sounds very interesting these books you are reading. I don't have a Kindle or Nook yet... Looks great to have one!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, such a sacrifice to visit someone you love in such a terrible place ;>)))..... Oh my gosh, it's really a lovely lovely beach -- and, as you say, a nice contrast to Colorado. (And I love the scenic contrasts among the different parts of our country!)
ReplyDeleteHi Al...I reminds me of the sandy beaches of Maine, with the color of the sand and the breaking surf!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful places in our world, glad you enjoyed this one!!

ReplyDeleteI moved to NZ and, thus, always near the sea a few years ago and I am still intrigued by the ocean. My shots are of the water, too!
ReplyDeleteWe spent 2 weeks in Pismo Beach in April and so enjoyed a full day hiking the Bob Jones Trail to Avila Beach. Love that Central Coast area.
ReplyDeleteLove that coastline, its been far too long since our last visit. I could do with a long meandering walk in those californian waters right about now.
