Here are some photos from last summer of a trail that leads to an abandoned settlement. It starts next to a mountain road.
It climbs and climbs.
Eventually the trail almost disappears.
But of course Socks is always happy to come along!
This is my entry for Scenic Weekends.

There I was hoping you'd post another of your 'walks' post and you must have heard me. A dog is such a satisfying companion on a walk, they don't try to outstrip you or lag behind and come when called, don't mind standing still while you wield the camera and just share your pleasure in being out in the wild woods.
ReplyDeleteThanks Al, give me a hard to find trail any day!
Your dog looks happy to be hiking!
ReplyDeleteThis leads to an abandoned settlement? How intriguing. These pictures are wonderful, Al. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Friday!
What is nice about temperate country forests is the clearing under the trees. If it is in the tropics you wont be able to see beyond 1 meter or you cannot pass through unless you will cut and clear the vegetation. Your dog looks tired hiking, oh he is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to hike.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!! =) I hope we will see more of this mountain hike! :)
ReplyDeletehappy weekend to you and socks! :)
ah non ce n'est pas un ours au dernier cliché!!!lol
ReplyDeleteNo fear about loosing the trail when you've got a four-legged friend along!
