It's time for my favorite meme, Skywatch Friday. And since it's been a while since I've posted lightning, here's one you haven't seen from last summer. Although after a while they all look the same...
See this post if you want to know how to capture lightning. Staying safe is the most important tip! And of course, you can click on the Lightning label below to see lots more of my captures.

An awesome capture, Al!! Would write more but I'm having a problems with my hand/ arthritis! Enjoy the remainder of your week!!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture! I love lightning shots.
ReplyDeleteAl, you took great photos of lightning!
ReplyDeleteBtw, as you know, in the stormy weather the lightning is very dangerous, principally to go to the beach and to swim in the pool. I Googled and I read that about 70% of all lightning activity occurs in the tropics and Brazil has the third-highest rate of occurrences of lightning strikes in the world.
A tragic accident occurred this week in São Paulo. "A woman, a 36-year-old tourist visiting Guarujá’s beach in São Paulo was killed after she was struck by lightning. For whatever reason, the tourist was running towards the water in the middle of a storm when she was hit. She was taken to the ER but died minutes after the accident."
I read that she was warning her children to get off the water... Poor young woman...
By chance a photographer took the photos of the strike:
Woman killed by lightning.

ReplyDeleteI did read your How To post and was entertained by the "live in a great spot" part. You got that right! So thank you for taking the trouble to shoot this beautiful lightning for the rest of us. It does not all look the same to me.
ReplyDeleteOh that is lovely, i haven't any success yet in shooting lightnings, i just do trial and error. Thanks that you have a link for some tutorials, i will go there after this.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot! I also like the background color. When there is thunder though I usually stay inside as we have so many trees around us. You are quite courageous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! I've never been able to capture lightening...of course part of that is because we rarely have lightening storms here in California!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the crispness of this shot - so good that it makes me feel a bit jumpy!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I've never taken a decent photo of lightning. I will follow follow that link to find out how.
