One of our local trails is a square one mile on each side, and it's a good winter hike as it's relatively low elevation and doesn't get much snow.
There's nothing spectacular, but it makes for an enjoyable couple of hours.

That sounds like a hike I might actually be able to do (in the summer/fall)! Our son and DIL know a few like that around where they live, perfect for those of us not used to the altitude. And everything is always beautiful there.
