End of Summer Trees

I spent a little time in Pueblo last weekend watching my son play tennis. Pueblo is only an hour south of our house, but it's almost 3,000 feet lower in elevation (specifically 2,840 feet or 865 meters lower), and this can make quite a difference in the weather. It was still summer-like with temperatures above 80 F (27 C), and the trees hadn't yet started to turn. So here are a few skyward-looking photos from that trip - I particularly liked the shape of the third tree.
For more skyward photos, visit Skywatch Friday.

  13. I know what you mean about visiting what seems to be a different climate, yet so close to home. When we lived in New Hampshire and traveled to see family in Connecticut, it was always like going back to earlier in the winter, or later in the spring.

  17. A contrast in land and temperature between your place and this place I see! Lovely photos of the trees and the sky! And my favourite, too- the third tree. It nearly looks like the three has got tree trunks, or - that here are three trees standing closed to each other.. :)
