Solar Eclipse

We went to Wyoming to see the total solar eclipse, and here's a montage of photos I took. I've always wanted to see a total solar eclipse, and it was absolutely fantastic. No photos can begin to convey the experience. 99% of totality isn't the same - if you can ever get out to see one it's worth the effort.
Here's the center one blown up. The dot on the lower left is the planet Mercury.

California Trees

A few months ago I was in central California and visited MontaƱa de Oro State Park on a stormy day. It's a truly beautiful place, and I'll start by showing you some interesting trees.
I loved their twisted trunks. I've got more photos from this park ready to post.

Wyoming Dawn

We stayed in Wyoming Sunday night to witness Monday's eclipse - the state's population more than doubled for the big event (less than 600,000 people live in the state, which is bigger than the United Kingdom). The day dawned bright with barely a cloud to be seen. I'll post more next week...

Spruce Mountain

Here are some shots from a hike around Spruce Mountain a few weeks ago.
The terrain includes classic Western buttes.
Here's another view taken from higher up.
And finally a pretty view, fairly typical on the front range of Colorado.

Here's a photo I took with my cell phone at last Friday's concert at Red Rocks.

Fountains & Rocks

For this week's Our World Tuesday post, here are a couple of completely different parts of the world. I'll start with my last photos from Charleston, a couple of pretty fountains.
I liked the way this next one was lit from behind.
And finally, on Friday I was at one of Colorado's most famous venues, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, to see a rock concert. Here's a shot from my cell phone.
