Lisse Flowers

Here is the last of my 1977 flower photos from Holland. This time it's a tulip field near Lisse, scanned from an old slide.

The Keukenhof is a huge flower garden in Holland, with the most impressive display of flowers that I've ever seen. Here's the first of a couple of slides from 1977 that I've scanned.

My life continues to be extremely busy as we're packing up for a possibly move, so my blogging will continue to be very inconsistent for a while.

Stardust

The North Sea gets some tremendous gales, and they sometimes resulted in shipwrecks. Here's one from 1976 (a scanned slide) when I lived in Holland - the Stardust. This may be a copy of one of my father's slides.

Scheveningen Harbor

Here's a scanned 1976 photo taken in Holland, at Scheveningen harbor.

Back then it was largely used by fishing boats, and people walked around it. It's for Vintage Weekly. It took a little work to make this one usable as it wasn't level or well-framed, but a little editing did wonders.

Leiden Canal

Here's a vintage 1976 slide, scanned and cropped by me, taken near Leiden. I love all the water in Holland, it's one of the things I miss living in a dry climate.

Arnhem

I promised I would move away from Garden of the Gods, so this is about as far as I can go. My notes indicate this old slide was taken near Arnhem (Holland) in 1976.

Here's a 1976 photo from Holland of a harbor near Middelburg, Holland. My note indicate it's Paal Harbor.

Middelburg Swinging Bridge

Here's an old scanned and cropped slide from 1976, of a swinging bridge in Middelburg, Holland. It would swing out of the way for boats to pass.

Madurodam

This is an old scanned slide (1976) from Madurodam, taken when I was growing up in Holland. I've posted a photo from here once before.

It's an impressive miniature village - as you can see the detail on the buildings is incredible. It's my entry for Vintage Weekly.

Haringvliet

As you may know, I spent ten years in Holland as a child, and even then enjoyed taking photographs. Holland has built many protections against the sea and floods, and this one in Haringvliet is one of them.

This is a scanned slide from 1976 (or possibly 1975), and it's my entry for Vintage Weekly. It's also a very wet part of Our World.
