Friendly Visitor
This friendly creature has wandered right outside my office's windows a couple of times in the last few days. I snapped this with the cell phone and thought it would make a fun Saturday's Critters post.

Deer, Deer
I got my flu shot a couple of weeks ago. These little friendlies were sitting outside the doctor's office as I walked in, watching everybody come and go.

17-Mile Drive - Point Joe
Last time we were in California we spent a couple of days in the Monterey area, and drove the famous 17-Mile Drive. Here are some photos from the Point Joe area on that drive.
It's a rocky, beautiful coast.
Some cypress trees grow near the shore, and there's golfing (the famous Pebble Beach course is in this area).
You can even see sea-lions on nearby islands. There's more to come from this area next week...

Wolf!
It's the big brother of Socks and Laika, for Camera Critters and Saturday's Critters.
To answer Klara's question on my previous post, I got that circle of sky by carefully choosing a spot for the photo; the fisheye lens helps make the trees seem taller, and anything going directly towards the photo's center doesn't show the infamous fisheye curve. I do very little post-processing on any of my photos. Sometimes I'll crop a little or rotate the shot slightly if I didn't get my composition right when I took the photo, and perform some minor color correction, but that's it.

Colorado Gators
Believe it or not, there's an alligator park in Colorado - it's called Colorado Gators, and it's situated on hot springs near the Great Sand Dunes National Park. It's the place where my old D40X finally stopped working - by the end of the visit the shutter motor was all be finished and it couldn't expose anything properly. So these are the last shots it ever took!
Of course, we had to visit it with the grandkids, and we all loved it. They even got to hold a small alligator!
They've even got a few rare albino alligators.

San Fran Seals
I loved the seals near Fisherman's Wharf when we were in San Francisco last year.

Inquisitive Deer
She's probably thinking - what are you doing in my garden?
Taken in Garden of the Gods, and linked to Camera Critters.
We are not directly impacted by the terrible floods here in Colorado, thanks for all the concern. Unfortunately, many have lost their houses and businesses in what may be the worst flooding in the state's history. In just a couple of days, there was a foot of rain north of us and a foot of rain south of use (that's 30 cm for the metric world), and this is a very dry area that isn't used to heavy rain. We were were in the middle and didn't have nearly that much. Between the wildfires within a few streets of our house, and the deluge that just missed us, we consider ourselves very lucky this summer.
