Stone Mountain

When we were in Georgia over the holidays we spent a morning at the famous Stone Mountain park. All photos were taken with my phone.
It's just what it sounds like, a stone dome standing 825 feet above the surrounding area.
It's a pretty walk up.
It's very different from my local mountains, and easy to climb given the high elevations my lungs are used to.
There's also a tram to the top.
The views are certainly impressive.
It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Atlanta area.

Atlanta Lights

We visited Atlanta over Christmas to see family, and while there saw the lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I only had my cellphone (not my DSLR) but tried to get some shots of the lights. This light-tunnel was fun to walk through.
The decorations were impressive.
The best part of the display consisted of hundreds of hanging strings of lights, changing colors in time with music.
You could get right up among them on a pedestrian bridge.
There was even a dragon.
It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Rock City Bridges

Here are the last photos from my series on Rock City, this time focusing on bridges.
It's fun to walk on the trails across these bridges, whether they're stone or wood.
It was a good visit to this tourist attraction!

Rock City Views

Next in my series of photos from Rock City, Georgia are some views.
The views are impressive but I'm not convinced that you can see seven states as they claim.
There's also a nice waterfall in the park.

Rock City!

When driving in northern Georgia or eastern Tennessee, you'll see lots of roadside advertisements for Rock City, and we'd heard it was worth a visit.
It is certainly a unique place with trails wandering around huge rocks.
We definitely enjoyed it, and I'll have a couple more posts from it!

Cloudy Atlanta Building

I know it's not a great shot, but here's a shot of a cloudy Atlanta building at night.
