It's springtime in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, which means an incredible variety of weather. It seems early in the year, but suddenly this one type of tree has blossomed all along the front range, in Colorado Springs and Denver. I don't know what type of tree it is, but it's certainly beautiful.
Those photos were taken in downtown Colorado Springs on Sunday, walking around in a t-shirt and shorts. This next photo was taken on Tuesday, at the end of a spring snowstorm.
And this great variety of weather and skies within two days is my entry for Skywatch Friday.

I saw many of the trees in Denver on Sunday as well as many more. No weather surprises me here in Colorado. A coat is always in the car!♥♫
ReplyDeleteYou have such variety of weather in your area! The blossoms look gorgeous against the blue sky! Plus you get to enjoy a little bit more of snow, too :D
ReplyDeleteOh, WOW! the extremes we have seen this year -- from one end of the weather spectrum to the other! That is a gorgeous tree and such beautiful captures, Al! I think I would avoid the snow covered swing set!! Hope your week is going well regardless of what kind of weather you have!!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
The weather is fool, in Italy too. I think that this tree could be a cherry.
ReplyDeleteBest regards from Italy-

How beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like maybe a Bradford Pear Tree. Whatever tree, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! What a contrast!! =O and that for only a short time, 2 days!! So interesting to see your town.. and a very lovely blossoming tree! even the photo with the snow is SO awesome!! =)
ReplyDeletePretty sure this is a white cherry blossom tree. Your photos are superb! :)

ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower..pls follow back if you can.
Your pictures describe well how quickly your weather changes. The trees are beautiful with their huge white blooms.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a gorgeous tree!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a great variety of weather and skies.
I would love to know Colorado Springs and Denver.
This post definitely tells anyone who doesn't know everything there is to know about CO weather (esp. this time of year!). Love it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blooming trees!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots. The flowery tree looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trees!! Your weather is like ours, a bit unreliable.Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteI love the white flowers against the blue sky and also the spring snow shot.
ReplyDeleteI thought we had moody weather in BC but this certainly looks impressive. I can see why no one is sliding and the snow is probably not deep enough for sledding. The purity of both blossoms and snow make very pretty pictures, though. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those white flowering trees! Beautiful. You sure do have dramatic weather changes!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I find living around mountains can bring such quick changes to the weather. Nonetheless we don't have t-shirt weather here yet! Happy Spring and have a blessed Easter weekend.
ReplyDeleteAmazing weather..the photos are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. The tree is very lovely...
ReplyDeleteSpring seems never to make up its mind, especially in the mountains.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trees.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
Looks like a cherry to me. Very striking contrasts - not so comfortable to experience for real, tho.
ReplyDeleteGee whiz you live in a beautiful part of the country. Colorado is a place of extremes! Such wonderful shots! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Happy sky watching and I wish you a Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteMy Sky.
It looks like a Bradford Pear, an ornamental both for blossom and stunning autumn leaves.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like contrast to add spice to life!
Have a Happy Easter wherever you are.
Beautiful Spring-photos!
ReplyDeleteI love them...
Easter greetings from Holland,
Anna :-))
There's nothing quite like springtime in the rockies.

Beautiful spring shots, Al. The weather change is certainly dramatic!!
ReplyDeleteThat blossom is beautiful, yes very freaky weather around at the moment, we had some snow last week too. I am hoping the weather will improve here soon though as I am now sick of the cold and wet winter.
