It's official - summer's gone, as we got our first snow on Friday, along with a temperature of 18 F (-8 C).
Looking out our front door it seemed like winter.
But of course, here in Colorado bad weather doesn't last for long, and this was the scene in our local park when I took Socks for a walk this afternoon (the temperature had rebounded to 58 F, or 14.4 C).
I love walking along a sunny trail in a pine forest.
The views towards Pikes Peak are lovely.
Near the end of the walk we approached the lakes.
The sun reflecting off the water through the aspen leaves is welcome.
I leave you with this one final reflection.

ReplyDeleteColorado is one of the most beautiful places for changing of the seasons. So much pretty, bright colors.
ReplyDeleteThe gold of the turning Aspen leaves is always so beautiful. We used to live in Colorado -- such a gorgeous place any time of the year!
ReplyDeleteHi Al,
ReplyDeleteSnow already? It seems unfair. However, your blue sky is special. Thanks for sharing your blues.
Happy Blue Monday!
Lovely photos. We've not had a frost yet, nor snow. But soon... :-)
ReplyDeleteCheers from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
Lovely shots. Looks like summer is definitely over.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and colorful garden.
ReplyDeleteLovely reflection! Yes, my parents in Rapid City, SD got slammed with snow this weekend. Winter is coming way too quickly!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn colors, especially the sky.
ReplyDeletethe beauty of nature seems to be magnified 10x in Colorado.
ReplyDeleteThe changeable Colorado weather still surprises me. (When the kids first lived there, I'd read in the paper about a heavy snow or blizzard and when I'd call to ask them how they were weathering the storm, they'd tell me it was shirtsleeve weather already).
ReplyDeleteThe park is beautiful.
The landscape looks stunning and so does the picture of the reflections.Snow and sun in the same day? Does make for beautiful photgraphs though :)
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrancy of that last shot. Glad to hear the snow disappeared as quickly as it came.
ReplyDeletePhoar that's chilly at your place - we going to hit stinking hot tomorrow! How does socks cope? Does he/she have a woolly jumper?!
ReplyDeleteLovely autumn photos you live in a beautiful part of the world.

We're due for more snow today, Al. We get storms but then it melts. One of these days it'll stick!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful there no matter how the weather is. It was about 80 here today. I can tell it's Fall though, because the days are shorter...
ReplyDeleteNo snow here, yet, but it is really chilly. My propane heaters are going strong. Your mountain peaks are so much higher than our Blue Ridge. So beautiful.
