For this week's Scenic Sunday post, here are some shots of a trail just to the west of the small town of Palmer Lake. It leads up to a pair of reservoirs, and these first shots are of the lower reservoir.
I like to call this Rhinoceros Rock.
And finally, a few shots from a side-trail that's a longer, prettier way to get between the lower and upper reservoirs than the standard one. Earlier in the year I'd tried to take this trail the whole way and failed, but this time I made it the whole way!

Thank you for visiting my blog...what a fantastic hike!
Congrats on making it all the way -- trail walking in beautiful Colorado is not just a "walk in the park." So to speak!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful walk and that does look like a rhino.

Wonderful landscapes! A great place to visit.
I like the second photo, with the mini ripples/waves. My husband, the water engineer is alway teaching me when we go out.

The water of the reservoirs is beautiful color, I like the ripples and shimmering in the second image. Yes, the rock looks like rhinoceros. Walking on the trail in the green forest must be refreshing all the seasons. Good for you that you completed the whole trail.
