Double Lightning Strikes

Here are a pair of summer double-lightning strikes for Skywatch Friday and for ein stück himmel (a piece of heaven).
Both were taken with long exposures from my yard, as are all my lightning shots (we get a lot of thunderstorms where I live). The second was a little out of focus so I didn't think it deserved its own post, but I thought it was worth showing anyway.

  12. I don't think I can stand outside long enough during a storm to capture such images. Nice work.

  13. Wow. "Awesome" as Sylvia said. That's the word for it.
We get a lot of lightning here on the Alberta prairie, too, but I never feel like going out to photograph it. I'll have to send my husband.

  15. Al's mum," Al, come back in, quick, my new Chinese neighbor tells me never ever let your kid go out in the rain."

LOL, that's what my mum, her mum, and her mum before her tells her. My European friends LOL at me.

Brilliant photo. Take a trip to Borneo, and photograph 101 lightnings.

  25. I so admire your skill at taking lightning images. I hate to admit to it but I haven't even tried taking these kind of shots. Perhaps I should put this on my to do list of things to learn. List is sooooo long.
