Smoky Sunset

Here are some photos from last Wednesday of a smoky sunset. This time the smoke was from a fire in the southwest part of our state, but it was smoky enough at our house that we kept our windows closed. It made for a bright orange sunset.
These are straight out of the camera, I did no editing of any type. They're for the Skywatch Friday meme.

  3. The photos are amazing, but what a tragedy fires are. I'm sorry you had to be evacuated from your house. It must be awful! Be safe.

  11. When i see red sunsets, i kept thinking, a lot of pollution is in the air. I just finished compiling a file of sunsets for my screensaver, even if they are all from my 5th Floor Window. Oh you should see the supermoon shot in Malaysia when there was still smoke from Indonesia's fire! It was so very red, which i haven't seen for a moon yet.

  12. Wow! Beautiful!! But I don't like that it is caused by smoke. I wish the damn wildfires would just LEAVE COLORADO ALONE!

  21. The smoke does occasionally make for beautiful sunsets! We were lucky that most of it had cleared when we visited CO week before last.

  22. Sad, but still nice photos!
We are just a few miles away from a big fire at the moment. The smoke is blowing in the wrong direction to have an impact on the sunset.

  23. Beautiful pictures of a smoky sunset but dramatic because it is caused by smoke and fire...
