Northport & Dogs

Northport is another pretty town on the North Shore of Long Island, near New York City; we spent a couple of hours there last time I was in the area.
This is where I photographed the gull.
I love being near the water - ironic since I live so far from it!
And to round out this post, here's a photo from Saturday after a little hike (the weather has been summer-like this weekend) - when we got back in the car I took a quick shot of my happy little hiking buddies.

    Oh I wondered if Laika was as good a hiker as Socks. They both look so happy with the nice break in your weather. We love being near the mountains and we sure don't live anywhere close to them here! That is what travel is for!

    I had a good friend that live din East Northport for many yearts before retiring to Florida. Long Island is much longer than most people realize. As a former Brooklyn resident I miss living on the island!

    Your hiking buddies seem to have all the energy to hike or swim maybe. They surely are a happy company.

    One thing I always want to be near is water...be it sea or river, lake or falls...just a natural body of water.
