Seattle Skies

Here's a wet Skywatch Friday entry - looking up through a glass ceiling at the cloudy Seattle skies while we were on vacation there a couple of weeks ago. These skies were a common feature while we were there, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. I'm also entering this into Watery Wednesday, as I think it qualifies!

  1. Mmmmmm, now those do look familiar!! We've actually been having a bit of blue for several days now, but just when you think maybe it's going to be a sunny day, the clouds roll back in yelling "Fooled ya!" Have a great day, Al!

  2. When in Seattle, you just have to go with the flow--which often means grey days!

    MIST ON THE OCEAN

    Mist on the ocean,
    Mist on the sea,
    Mist on the meadow,
    Mist on the tree;

    Dew on the grasses,
    Dew on the rose,
    Dew in the garden,
    Dew on my clothes;

    All of this wetness,
    It’s plain to see,
    Promises blessings
    For you and me!

  3. Seattle is such a beautiful city that rain cannot dampen the tourist's visit. I just love Seattle!

  4. It looks almost like melting ice. Hope it wasn't that cold.

  5. The blues skies you've NEVER seen are in Seattle! Such a contrast from your home State. Our kids moved to CO from Seattle just so they could see the sun occasionally. Hope you enjoyed your vacation anyway -- it IS a nice city.

  8. I like your photo a lot, Al, but you shall be welcome to keep the rain the next week or so, as we are going to have our house painted - and that's very needed :-D

  9. I'd be disappointed if it didn't rain in Seattle! My friend is actually going there next month, if you have any suggestions as to where she should go there, I would love to hear it! :D

  11. Ahh yes, Seattle skies. I've said for years that I'd have moved there if it wasn't for the weather. Great job making lemonade out of (weather) lemons though.

  17. Hi there - that’s a really good picture. Water on windows is often very hard to get right. I wonder what it would look like in B/W?
